Awards!!

These are the first awards I've had - so I am very pleased! Thanks so much Maria.
The awards are the Friendship and Lemonade Stand awards.
The instructions for each award are as follows:"These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated" It also says: "Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award." (Friendship)and:Nominate 5 to 10 blogs you feel show great attitude and gratitude. Link to your nominees within your blog post.- Comment on their blogs to let them know they've received the award. Link back to the person who gave you the award to show your appreciation. (Lemonade Stand)
I've only been in the world of blogs for a short time, so I don't know many, but here
is my list of those I'd like to pass this award onto, these are people whose blogs help inspire and motivate me:

Maria (of course)
Lynne (fab shimmery butterfly card)
BeckiandAlan (great paper roses)
Lynsay (love the mini scrapbook)

Thanks for sharing your creativity!

Another party :-)

Friday's party went well, though I wasn't as prepared as I'd been for the first one. If you were there, thanks for coming and I hope you enjoyed it. Since then, my daughter's been ill and I've been full of the cold so not had a chance to upload pics! Anyway, here are some pics:

The first one is the A6 card I demo'd, the design is from a project on the particraft website. I used walut distress ink to stamp the geranium and around the edge. I painted the picture with Adirondack pens. The rest of the cards (some are mini-cards, not A6) were painted with adirondack pens, I only have 6 pens but different colours were made by mixing the ink on a plastic tray before painting them onto the card.

This butterfly mini-card background was painted with a Radiant rain paint dabber (nutmeg). I dabbed it directly onto the stamp to make the leaf borders.
I stamped the butterfly onto

white card, painted it with Adirondack pens and added a little glitter before mounting it with foam pads.

The lilies were also stamped onto white card, and painted before being mounted onto black card. The bear was coloured by mixing Meadow, Redpepper and butterscotch Adirondack pens to get different shades of brown.

This A6 card is similar to the geranium
card - stamped with walnut stain distress ink, and
painted with Adirondack pens. The background is Fancy pants scrapbook paper.

Hope you have a good bank holiday!

My first party!

I had my first PartiCraft party last night, and I think it went quite well. If you were there - thanks for coming :-)

I hope you enjoyed it.

I demonstrated heat embossing, using white embossing powder on black card, and then painting with Cosmic Shimmer watercolour paints, this is the finished card. It's similar to the card I put on my first blog post, just different colour paints.

Here are a couple of other cards I made using the Birthday stamp set from PartiCraft, heat embossed with different colours of embossing powder:

I also made some mini cards , as a prize for the icebreaker game. For the the top one I used clear embossing powder, on black card, and then painted over it with watercolour paint.

So, now I need to plan the next party...I'm looking forward to it!

Hi, the last week has been hectic, and I've not had time to make any cards, or update this blog...
I have started a few cards, in preparation for my first PartiCraft party on Friday. I'm going to be demonstrating embossing. I'll put up some pics when they're done.
I thought I'd show you a few other crafty things I've made recently. Scrapbook papers can be used for many projects, not just scrapbooks! I used some papers from my stash to make two pencil pots for my eldest daughter - she chose the papers. The small one was made from a washing powder tub, and the larger one from a tube that came with a whisky bottle inside.
I also made some organiser pockets using card, scrapbook papers and plastic pockets from a ring-binder. My kids chose their own scrapbook paper, and helped to make them. They're great for holding all the letters and things they bring home from school, nursery and their clubs.

Hopefully I'll have some more cards to show soon...
