Birthday boys

This is a busy time of year for birthdays in our family, so here's some pics of cards I made this week for various boys' birthdays.

I made them all with the A5 birthday unmounted stamp set from PartiCraft, the background papers are from my stash and the Thomas badge re-used from an old card! They were embossed with cosmic shimmer metallic embossing powders, and painted with Cosmic Shimmer watercolour paints, also from PartiCraft.
My eldest daughter (age 11) also made a butterfly card, embossed with clear embossing powder, on black ink, and painted with Cosmic Shimmer watercolours, I think she did a good job :-)

I have a PartiCraft party coming up soon, in Shetland! If you want to come, click on the link to my PartiCraft page and contact me. It's on 14th or maybe 15th of July, depending on when folk can make it.

Father's Day

Today is Father's Day so here's a pic of the card I made for my Dad. I used the tree stamp from Particraft's Nature plate A5 unmounted stamp set. I stamped the image onto cream card with black ink, and embossed it with clear embossing powder. Then I painted it with Cosmic shimmer watercolours. I mounted the picture onto a black card blank. Quite simple to make, but I liked the effect.Love to read your comments!

Medallion cards

This week I've had a go at making a medallion card, with a mounted stamp from Particraft. I've never done one before, but it was not as difficult as I thought it would be! Here's a pic:

I stamped and embossed 4 medallions, 2 in red and 2 in gold Cosmic Shimmer embossing powder. Then I cut out the sections and painted them with Cosmic Shimmer watercolours.
My daughter wanted to make one too, so here's a pic of hers:

She is 11. She chose silver and gold embossing powder, and painted the layers with Cosmic Shimmer watercolour paints. I cut out the layers since she's not too confident with a craft knife.

I may do a workshop or "make and take" using this medallion design (in Cumbernauld) - leave me a comment if you're interested!

Inspiration

I was away at a Christian women's conference last weekend, and wanted to find a way to remember some of the bible verses that were significant to me. I was going to just print them out and stick them up with blu-tak, but then I thought why not use some scrapbook papers?
This is the result of one:

I printed out the text on white paper, matted it onto green cardstock, and then onto scrapbook paper. I embossed a butterfly onto white card, cut it out and stuck it to the top left corner. The whole thing was stuck onto mounting board to make it stiff, and the edges inked. It can stand up or be hung on the wall. I included a 50p coin to give a sense of scale.

Till next time,
