Workshop news

Today I am recovering from flu, I've not been well all weekend, but hopefully be better tomorow. Some of the kids had it too so my husband has had to look after us all! He's doing a great job.
My first Christmas Craft workshop went well on friday - all the ladies who cam made different Christmas cards, and learned about heat embossing, painting with cosmic shimmer watercolours, and using blending distress inks around their stamped images. I didn't take any pics there, but here's a pic of a card I made for the party I demonstrated at last friday - the bear is stamped on acetate and coloured with 3D crystal lacquer. I like the effect. It took me a while to work out how to fold the diamond at the top of the card, after I saw some like this at the Hobbycrafts show at the SECC a few weeks ago, but I've got it now!
At the next workshop on friday we'll be making gift boxes like this:

There are 2 places left at the workshop, so if you want to come email me using the link on the side bar.

Crafty party

My PartiCraft party went well on Friday night. I demonstrated stamping on acetate, and using 3D Crystal lacquers and glitter to decorate the stamped images.

I did a little competition at the beginning of the party as an ice-breaker, and the prize was 3 mini-cards - here they are:The bear is stamped on acetate and glittered on the back. The images on the stocking card were painted with cosmic shimmer watercolours
The lilies were coloured with Adirondack pens.
Also, the new hostess plate for November is out - book a party with me in November and this A4 stamp set will be yours free!

Taster workshop

This morning I had the opportunity to run a taster session in my kids' school - for the nursery & P1 parents - to let them try making cards.

The 4 ladies who came enjoyed themselves and were pleased with the way their cards turned out. Only one of them had made cards from scratch before. I let them choose if they wanted to make a birthday card, or a christmas card, based on these two designs:

They chose different colour card and paints, for the birthday card, and different christmas stamps for the central image of the christmas card, so all the cards looked quite different by the end. I didn't take any pictures there.
Tha backgrounds are stamped with Perfect Medium, to give a watermark effect, and the embossed images were painted with cosmic shimmer watercolours.

Tomorrow evening I am doing a PartiCraft party, so I'm looking forward to that...not sure what I'm going to demo yet though!

Great news - FREE POSTAGE

PartiCraft have announced that you can now have free postage on all your online orders! Isn't that fantastic?

If you do order online, don't forget to choose me from the list of demonstrators, to show how you found PartiCraft. I can still order things for you if you prefer not to order online, and of course I can demonstrate how to use the products if you need a bit of inspiration. There are quite a lot of new products in the catalogue, so do go and have a look online, or if you'd like a paper copy of the new supplement, just ask!

It's been school holidays here and I've been away, so no crafting going on unfortunately. However I did finish this cross-stitch for my nephew, its a birth sampler, although he's 3 now! Hope he likes it.
Bye for now,
Teri

Boxes, boxes, boxes..

Today I got around to trying to make some gift boxes using my Eazi-score board (click here to see one). Up to now I've just used it for folding card blanks.

I decide to use some old Christmas cards, as I thought they'd make quick, interesting boxes. My daughter made some too. Here are the results:

We also made a couple from birthday cards:
