craft fair and photo cards

Hi, here's a pic of my table at the craft fair on Saturday. I met some friendly folk, and some were interested in coming along to the workshops I run on a Friday morning, and some were interested in hosting a PartiCraft party. The next workshop is on June 11th, so if you want to come, please email me. It was quite quiet so the craft  fair packed up early. I was very excited when one lady said she'd seen my blog! It was the highlight of the day for me :-)
For a while I have been meaning to have a go at making some cards with some photo's I took of some flowers...so here are the results:

These are not my usual style at all, so I'd love to know what you think.

WORKSHOP NEWS

There's no workshop this Friday as the schools are off for the May long weekend, and I'm away at the Cherish women's conference the following weekend, so there's no workshop next week either.

Craft Fair on Saturday 22nd May

Here's a sneek peek of some of the cards I will be selling at the craft fair on Saturday (in the Muirfield centre, Cumbernauld).  This one's a bit out of focus, sorry. I had to take the pics with my mobile as the batteries were flat on the camera, oops.
The bird and branch are from PartiCraft's Jungle and Monkey A5 stamp sets.  They were stamped with black archival ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.  Then I painted them with CS watercolours. I used Broken china distress ink to edge the white card. around the bird and sentiment.
This card uses one of the butterfiy stamps from Particrafts Butterfly1 A5 stamp set.  I ran the green paper through my big shot with and embossing folder, to get the texture, and used Walnut Stain distress ink to bring it up.
This is a fairly basic step-type card.  I've cut the boy out separately and stuck him onto the back of the front step. If you are at the craft fair, please come and say hello.  I will have some PartiCraft products available to buy (including stamp sets), catalogues to browse, and I'll be doing some demonstrations too.

WORKSHOP NEWS
At tomorrow's workshop we will be making a card similar to this.   You will learn how to use angel fibres, and we will be doing heat embossing and  using distress ink.  this is the last workshop for this block. Block  4 starts on June 11th.

Party and the Fashion show

I had a busy weeekend with a PartiCraft party on Friday night, and the Charity fashion Show on Saturday night. My eldest daughter was modelling on the catwalk, so she was nervous, but did very well.  The whole event was a great success and made £1800!!

The PartiCraft party was a small group but I think they all enjoyed it, and if you were there, and are reading this and ordered things at the party, they should be delivered in a few days.  I hope you enjoyed the evening.  I demonstrated heat embossing, painting with cosmic shimmer watercolours and adirondack pens. If you have any questions feel free to email me.
This weekend I will have a stall at our local craft fair at the Muirfield centre in Cumbernauld, 12.30 till 4pm.  the craft stalls are inside the building, and there's a car boot sale in the car park too.  If you're there, come and say hello :-)

Cards, mirrors and bracelets...

Hi, I've finally managed to get some pics from my camera to the blog..so here's a couple of pics of cards I did as samples for one of last month's workshops. We were using masking to create stamped cards. In the first one I stamped the boy first, then masked him and stamped the animals, so thye look as though they are behind him.  I used distress ink to stamp the animals, rather than give them the black outline you'd get with black archival. This one's an easel card. The stamp images are from the Safari A5 stamp set from PartiCraft.
The second card uses masking too, but this time I just used one stamp - the present from the Birthday A5 stamp set. I painted it with distress inks, and used a borderabilities die to cut the purple border.
Here's a pic of a mirror I decorated using the Jungle, Safari and Monkeys stamps, I sold this one to a little boy.  Hope he's enjoying having it hanging in his bedroom.

And finally, here are a couple of pics of some bracelets I have been making to sell at the Charity fashion show on Saturday:I've used several stamp sets from partiCraft to make these, including the new religious 4 set.  The ones laid out flat are made from recycled or re-purposed leather.  The images were stamped and embossed onto the leather.  The ones shown fastened, are grungeboard - Sheena Douglass-style.
The Charity fashion show on Saturday evening is at 6.30pm at Cornerstone House, Cumbernauld. Tickets are £5, includes soft drink and nibbles.  There will be a catwalk show, raffle, plenty of second-hand clothes to buy, as well as handmade jewellery and the bracelets pictured above.Contact me for more info.  turning into a long post, if you're still reading, thanks!

Candle workshop

Today's workshop went well, everyone enjoyed the workshop this morning, here's a pic of some of the candles we decorated.  The images are from some of the A5 stamp sets from partiCraft. The dove image is from the new Religious 4 A5 stamp set.

Here's a pic from last week's workshop too. We made bracelets and bookmarks using grungeboard. I took more pic's but they seem to have disppeared from my phone somehow.
These bookmarks were made using the "swirls" grungeboard, painted withcosmic shimmer watercolour paints. The mica in the paints makes a lovely sparkle background.  The bear was painted with glitter mixed with crystal lacquer.
The pic doesn't do justice to the bookmarks unfortunately.

next week we will be making cards using heat embossing and cosmic shimmer watercolours...there's still spaces available, so if you want to come, email me.
