Light of the World stamp set

Hi all,

I was really pleased to have some new faces at the workshop today - hope you all enjoyed it! Here are some pics of the cards:

We used distress inks to edge 2 pieces of white card, one with shabby shutters and the other with fired brick. Then the baubles and other images were stamped with the same 2 colours of distress ink.  One lady added a purple element by using dusty concord distress ink, and stamping snowflakes ( from the Medallion set 2 A4 stamp set). The "Light of the world" stamp set from PartiCraft is great because the images are designed to fit into the baubles, so there are lots of possible combinations.
Using distress ink like this means you can always get a mat for your cards to match the ink you use for the images.  I saw Sue demo these techniques on Create and Craft a while ago.

We used double-sided tape to edge the white card and poured Cosmic Shimmer Aurora glitter onto the tape to give a glittery frame.  The layers were stacked up and mounted on a card blank, made from either dark green or red ribbed card.

I'll be demonstrating using this set at the PartiCraft party in Garelochhead tomorrow night, so why not come and join us? Email me using the link on the sidebar.

Don't forget Sue is demonstrating on Create and Craft on Monday at 12pm...it'll be great.

New Workshop dates/times !!!!

Hi all,

If you have come to this blog because you received a leaflet through your door - welcome :-) If you click on "older posts" at the bottom of the page you can scroll through previous posts and see pictures of some of the projects we have done in workshops.

I'm very excited to announce some new days and times for papercrafting workshops. I'm going to be running them in the same venue as the Friday workshops - Cornerstone House in Cumbernauld.

There are 4 time slots to choose from:
Tuesdays at 10-11.30am
Tuesdays at 1-2.30pm
Thursdays at 10-11.30am
Thursdays at 1 - 2.30pm

Fridays at 9.30 -11am plus occasional longer sessions, to do a bigger project at 9.30-12.45pm for £12 (see sidebar for dates)

Each session lasts an hour and a half and you will get to complete one project in that time. All materials will be provided, the cost is £6.  The projects will include Christmas cards and gift boxes. You will learn a variety of techniques - rubber stamping, heat embossing, using distress inks, cosmic shimmer watercolours and other products.  Beginners welcome - no previous knowledge required.
I am hoping to run the Tuesday and Thursday workshops for 6 weeks, starting on November 2nd. If you book to come to all 6 workshops (one a week) by Oct 29th, you get a 10% discount.
The dates of the Friday workshops are on my sidebar already, and there are still places available.

I will need to get a minimum number of bookings for each session, before I can start running them, so please contact me to book your place. Email me by clicking the link on the sidebar.

I'm looking forward to meeting more crafters!

Rhino it's your birthday...

This is a pic from a walk we went near Kilsyth recently.  I like trees, so I took a pic of this one!  Anyway back to crafting, here's a pic of the card we made at my workshop on Friday.  The background paper was stamped repeatedly with Adirondack ink (denim) with the wording.  Then I cut 2 circles with nestibilities circle dies, in different shades of blue.  I stamped the rhino image 5 times on white card with the same denim inkpad, and cut out various parts. I layered them up with sticky pads, to create a decopage rhino.  The rhino and the greeting are from PartiCraft's A5 Safari stamp set, and the background wording from their A5 Monkey stamp set.  I mounted the whole thing onto an A5 white card blank.

This Sunday is my in-laws 40th wedding anniversary, so I made this card for them. The greeting stamp is available from PartiCraft. I stamped it with perfect medium and heat embossed it with Cosmic Shimmer Golden Red Blaze embossing powder.  The shapes  were cut with my nestabilities labels dies, and distressed with red brick distress ink.

Hope they like it!

There's no workshop this friday since it is the school holidays, so the next one is Friday 22nd October.

Another tree card...

This is the card we made at the workshop on Friday. I was inspired by a similar one on Pam's blog.  I used 3 colours of distress ink, on glossy card, to make the background. I masked off an area to make a white frame, and after adding the first colour, I masked off a circle as well.  Then I stamped the images with blck archival ink.  The tree stamp is from PartiCraft's Nature A5 stamp set, and the birds are from the Religious4 A5 stamp set (also PartiCraft).

Since it is now October, PartiCraft have a new FREE gift - see the pic on my sidebar.  You can get this if you host a party this month.
