Tayvallich party

I enjoyed the Particraft party I did on Tuesday, hosted by my Mum :-)
It was in the beautiful village of Tayvallich:

These are three mini-cards I made as a prize for the ice-breaker game. Two use a small lily stamp from the Birthday stamp set, the yellow one I've painted with cosmic shimmer watercolours and the other with adirondack pens. Both have the sentiment stamped using Walnut Stain distress ink. The backing paper "Abigail" from Fancy Pants' Sweet Pea range.

The butterflies were painted with adirondack pens, and I added a few spots of glitter. I used distress ink to stamp the leaf borders.
The ladies at the party enjoyed having a go with embossing, and painting with the cosmic shimmer watercolours. They had lots of ideas, and one even suggested embossing onto a piece of fabric. It worked quite well on polycotton, but denim or 100% cotton might be better. Anyone else tried that?

Crafting with kids

Well, my PartiCraft party on Wednesday went well, I met some lovely people, and I think they enjoyed the evening.
I spent some time with my kids, letting them try out the stamps I have from PartiCraft, and here are some of the results:

My daughter (age 11) made this one for her friend's birthday, using Adirondackpens. I think it looks great on the Fancy Pants paper. Her friend liked it too!

My son (age 8) stamped and embossed this butterfly with black ink and clear embossing powder, and painted it with cosmic shimmer watercolours.

My younger daughter chose the colours for the stamping and embossing (I did that for her) and then she coloured them with crayons and felt pens - even a 4-year old can enjoy making cards, and get a good result with these stamps.

I made this card for my sister's birthday, using the birthday stamp set from PartiCraft, stamped and embossed with metallic gold embossing powder, and painted with Cosmic Shimmer watercolours. The gold writing doesn't show up very well in the photo, but looked better in real life!

I'm doing a party in Argyll next week...so I'll post some pics when I've made some samples for that!

Butterfly cards

Hi, we just got back from our summer holiday - camping on the Yorkshire coast. It was lovely. The English schools hadn't broken up yet, so it wasn't too busy :-)
I have a Particraft party booked for next week so I spent some time today making some mini-cards in preparation for that. I used the "Butterfly 1" unmounted stamp set from Particraft for the 2 very different butterfly mini-cards and the Bears unmounted stamp set, also from Particraft for the bear card. The mini-cards are a little smaller than A6.
The green card was painted with a mallard green radiant rain paint dabber, and the small butterfly border was stamped using the same paint. The large butterfly was stamped with black ink and painted with adirondack pens.

The black butterfly card was made by stamping the butterfly onto cream card and embossing it with clear embossing powder. It was painted with cosmic shimmer watercolours and cut out with a craft knife. The wording was stamped and glitter stars added using "dries clear" glue with a metal tip, and glitter.
It's great to be able to make such different cards from the same butterfly stamp.
For the bear card I stamped and embossed the bear with gold metallic embossing powder and painted it with nutmeg radiant rain paint dabber. I painted the heart with Scarlet sunset cosmic shimmer watercolour paint. The wording was also embossed with gold and the edges softened with the nutmeg paint.
Hope you like them - if you are coming to the Party in Shetland on Wednesday, you'll get to see them "in real life"!
Hope you are enjoying the Summer!
