A few pics from today's workshop

Today at my workshop, we finished the gift boxes we'd started last time. The ladies made layered toppers for the boxes. It was a bit of a rush to finish by the end of the class, but all the boxes were lovely. The ladies did a great job. Thought you'd like to see a few pics.

Parents' workshop today.

Hi, my workshop at the local school was very enjoyable, but I was a bit disappointed only 2 folk turned up. Oh well, hopefully I'll get more next time. It was good to be able to give more attention to each person.
Here's a pic of the ladies making Christmas cards.

I've also been inspired by Becki to try making some flowers with my Eazi-Score board, here's the result. Check out Becki's great picture on her blog - linked on my sidebar. It's called Papercraft Adventures.
My two nieces had birthdays in the last few weeks so I gave them both a cross-stitch picture (the kits were from The World of Cross-Stitching Magazine) and personalised keyring. (their names were on the back). I stamped and painted the butterflies before putting them into the keyrings.

That's all for now,

Workshop Gift Boxes, and some cards

At my workshop on Friday we made gift boxes. We used a stamp to make each side, and next week we'll make a medallion topper...hopefully I'll get some pics of the finished boxes. This is the stamp we used:

We stamped the image on black paper and embossed it with Red embossing powder, and decorated them with glitter.

The ladies all liked their boxes :-)

My mother-in-law has retired this month, so here's a pic of the card I made for her. The basket stamp is from PartiCraft, I've painted it with cosmic shimmer watercolours, and added a bit of glitter in the centre of the flowers. I also made a baby card for some friends whose first child was born at the end of October, both the bear and "Congratulations" stamps are from PartiCraft, and I've embossed the bear in gold, and painted it with cosmic shimmer watercolours. The sentiment was stamped onto the card blank, and onto a piece of blue card. Then the blue card was stuck on with foam pads.

I've got 8 folk booked to come to a workshop I'm running in my kids school this week (for the parents), so I am looking forward to that. We'll be doing Christmas and Birthday cards.

Workshop news

Today I am recovering from flu, I've not been well all weekend, but hopefully be better tomorow. Some of the kids had it too so my husband has had to look after us all! He's doing a great job.
My first Christmas Craft workshop went well on friday - all the ladies who cam made different Christmas cards, and learned about heat embossing, painting with cosmic shimmer watercolours, and using blending distress inks around their stamped images. I didn't take any pics there, but here's a pic of a card I made for the party I demonstrated at last friday - the bear is stamped on acetate and coloured with 3D crystal lacquer. I like the effect. It took me a while to work out how to fold the diamond at the top of the card, after I saw some like this at the Hobbycrafts show at the SECC a few weeks ago, but I've got it now!
At the next workshop on friday we'll be making gift boxes like this:

There are 2 places left at the workshop, so if you want to come email me using the link on the side bar.

Crafty party

My PartiCraft party went well on Friday night. I demonstrated stamping on acetate, and using 3D Crystal lacquers and glitter to decorate the stamped images.

I did a little competition at the beginning of the party as an ice-breaker, and the prize was 3 mini-cards - here they are:The bear is stamped on acetate and glittered on the back. The images on the stocking card were painted with cosmic shimmer watercolours
The lilies were coloured with Adirondack pens.
Also, the new hostess plate for November is out - book a party with me in November and this A4 stamp set will be yours free!
