Workshop news

My workshop on Friday went well, and a couple of new folk came, so that was excellent.
They all enjoyed it, and made lovely cards with the girls stamp from Particraft - see my previous post for some example pics. It was the first time they had used distress inks.
This Friday we will be starting gift boxes like these...so I'm looking forward to that. Since the sessions are quite short, we'll take 2 weeks over making them.
There are 2 places left at the current block of workshops, so please contact me if you'd like to come. (Email on the side bar.)
I've booked the room for more workshops ever Friday morning till the school Summer holidays (term-time only), so there will be plenty more workshops coming up - email me to book a place!
I've also booked a table at a local craft fair (first time for me) for February so I'm busy making cards and things for that ...pics later...

Pamper yourself!

Hi, here are a couple of cards I've made with the same girl stamp set as the "Shop till you drop" image in my last post.

The first one is a DL size card. I stamped the image onto cream card, painted it and cut it out. Then I stamped it again onto patterned paper, and painted in the taps. I stuck on the cut-out girl's head and neck, and raised the bath with foam pads for a 3D look.

The second one was stamped onto cream card and I painted in the background, leaving the bath unpainted. I used distress ink around the edge, and layered onto pink card.

I stamped the sentiment across the bottom half of the card, and finished off with a flower cut from the same patterned paper as the top half of the card, with a brad in the centre.

I think this card would have been better if I'd cut out the image in a rectangle - what do you think? love to have some comments!

That's all for now,
Teri x

Shop till you drop!

Here's my latest attempt at a card with this girl stamp. I've used adirondack pens to colour her, and distress ink around the edges. I don't usually make square cards, but this one just seemed to work better as a square. I think I'll have to make an envelope for it too, as I don't have any square ones! We'll be using the girls set of stamps at my workshop on friday, so I'm looking forward to that. We'll be painting with adirondack pens and distress inks...:-)

Check out this fab blog candy!

PartiCraft are offering more blog candy - the draw will take place when they reach 500 followers, so pop over and take a look.
This morning was the first workshop in my next block, but a couple of folk have dropped out, so there are places available if you are interested - contact me for more info. (email link on the sidebar).
We made gate-fold birthday cards today with heat-embossed parcels on the front, painted with cosmic shimmer watercolours. Everyone was pleased with the results, despite some saying they weren't confident about painting. The great thing about painting heat-embossed images with watercolours is that the paint won't stick to the embossing - so it is easier to stay inside the lines.
Next week we are going to use distress ink and adirondack pens to colour stamped images. And then the next 2 weeks we'll be making gift boxes. It's going to be fun!

Jungle stamps

Happy New Year!

It was my birthday just before Christmas, and I got some fabulous jungle stamps! So here's my first attempt at a card: I used distress inks to colour the background and to colour the stamped images, and cut a wee hole for the hippo's legs, so she looks like she's in the water. What do you think?
If you'd like to see more cards made with these stamps, check out Sue's blog posts here and here. She's made some great cards, and there's some from a follower on there too - click here to see them.
It was a friend's 70th birthday in December too, so I made her this card with the BIRTHPLAT stamp set. I used cosmic shimmer watercolours to colour the presents, and distress ink for the background to the sentiment stamp.
And then it was my eldest daughter's birthday after new year, so I made her this card using the UMCGGIRL stamp set from PartiCraft. Both these stamp sets are very versatile - they can be coloured to suit the recipient. My daughter likes purple, so I included a lot of purple in the card.
This month's free gift from PartiCraft is a valentine's theme - looks like a great selection of hearts etc - take a look.
to get hold of this stamp set all you have to do is host a demonstration party - invite some friends round and I will come and demo some products/techniques for you - you can earn free products from the catalogue as well. For more info contact me (email link on the sidebar - or comment on the blog).
Happy crafting
