One-year of blogging!

I just realised it's a year since my first blog post!

I can't believe it's a week since my last post. My kids have been sick this week so not much time for crafting or blogging, and I was away at the weekend in Darlington, with my sister. There's a fab craft shop there by the way, (The Art Shop) and I could have spent hours in there, but my sister had other ideas. As it was I found a small circle punch, which I was very excited about, having been looking for one for ages!  I also went to Boyes, which is a great shop, sells everything, but only seem to have stores in Yorkshire.  I bought crochet hooks and wool...to practise since my Mum showed me how to crochet at Easter. So far I've made one dodgy-looking flower...no, I'm not posting a pic of that!  I'm hopeful the next one will be better :-)

Workshop news
Last week's workshop was quiet, as a couple of folk couldn't make it.  I showed the ladies how to use masking when stamping images, and they made lovely square cards using the A5 Birthday set from Particraft.  Tomorrow we are going to play with grungeboard. We will be making bracelet/wrist bands, as pictured in a previous post, or bookmarks using the same technique for those who weren't keen on the bracelet!
I must get my camera sorted out so I can post some pics.

Workshops - block 3 starts tomorrow

Hi,
Just a quick post to say that Block 3 of my papercraft workshops starts tomorrow.  There are 2 places left, so its not too late to book yourself a place...just email me using the link on the sidebar.

We will be making a square card by stamping and using masks.  There are plenty of different stamp designs to choose from.  We will be using distress inks and adirondack pens too.

See you there :-)

The Charity Spring fayre

I was at a Charity Spring Fayre today, and I just heard it made a good amount of money for the 2 charities.  Unfortunately I didn't manage to sell very much, but I did meet a few folk who were interested in my workshops, demo's and parties. If you were there, and are reading this, welcome to my blog, hope you enjoy reading it, and please do leave a comment.  If you see something you'd like to learn to make, or you want to get some free Particraft products, please book a party with me, and I will come and do a demo for you.

I sold some of my bracelets, notebooks, and a mirror, so that was good. I demonstrated how to use Adirondack pens and distress inks, and sold some of the pens - hope you enjoy using them!

Candles

Just a quick post - these are the candles I've been working on this week, pics as promised.  Some turned out really good, and some not so great, I think I need a bit more practise...
The stamped images are from the Birthday A5 stamp set and the Butterfly 1 A5 stamp set from PartiCraft, except the celtic cross image, which is from Heritage Crafts. They were all stamped with archival black ink, and coloured with Adirondack pens.
I also did a couple with animal images from the Safari A5 stamp set, with text on the back:

Any suggestions/comments?

Preparations for the craft fair...

I've been busy making cards, altered mirrors (from Ikea) and decorating candles for the craft fair on 17th.  Today the kids broke up from school, so my crafting time will be very limited.  Here's some of the cards...
I've used my new nestibilities labels dies on most of them, and stamps from several A5 stamp sets from PartiCraft (Bears, Girls, Butterfly1, Birthday and the Seaside Create-a-Scene set).  I realy like the way this one turned out:

I've bought some mirrors from Ikea and painted them with Radant Rain paint dabbers, then stamped and embossed them, and painted the stamped images with cosmic shimmer watercolours.  Here's a pic of one of them, I used one of the butterflies from PartiCraft's Butterfly 1 stamp set.
I've decorated a few candles too, but haven't any pics of them yet...maybe tomorrow.  Would love to have your comments, as always!

I got some prints of the new stamp sets which will soon be available from PartiCraft, they look fab! Some are on the website, click here to see them.  They will all be online soon, and I will have prints of them all at the craft fair if you want to see them!
